Alkmaar = Maastricht * Utrecht
Today I was doing some shopping in Alkmaar. I must say I have never been to Alkmaar before… But it has become my target for an extensive photo shooting :) I will organise there. It was a feeling I was both in Utrecht and Maastricht at once. It is that beautiful!

I hate Dutch transport system
One of the things I hate in NL is transport system. Absolutely no care about customers. Ok, not all the time but majority of time. It concerns both railways and non-rail transport. If you running to the bus or tram and knock the door opposite to the driver, 95% he will not open the door. If you cross the road in front of the tram, 95% the tram which was just standing at the stop will start the...

MY Photo Debut at The Hague Expats Halloween Party...
After a big break with shooting the city events I debuted last Friday shooting The Hague Expats Halloween Party 2011. The indoor events I was mostly working at before were the concerts where the flash usage was prohibited. I should say it was my first experience of shooting a 6-hour party mostly with flash. The latter was not my favorite tool in my photo luggage. However, after reading a ton of...

Pilates ball as computer chair
I have just replaced my computer chair with a Pilates ball. It is 75cm against mine 203cm, so not ideal but still OK. The rule, correct me if I am wrong, is that the ball size should be near your height-110cm. I could not find the ball of 90cm in size, so I bought 75cm one. Besides, your hips should be parallel to the floor. That was impossible with all of my computer chairs and it seems to be OK...

OMG, It's Different!
OMG, It’s Different! That was the first phrase my new customer expressed after I finished explanation of the new concept for information architecture of the new website for the Dutch handball association. In fact this “difference” is something he was really afraid I would present to him. Then he laid back on his chair and started to slowly analyze the new concept. He ended up...

450km away from Moscow
450km away from Moscow. If you want to know Russia and enjoy every bit of it, leave the city, get on a train or a car and explore the “surroundings”, places located at least 300km away. I have started to publish the photos from my trip to Rostov, Yaroslavl’, Karabikha, Kostroma and Domnino. Some photos contain the links to the video I recorded on the way. Enjoy!

Gemeente Den Haag support to starting businesses
Today I gave an interview to a student of the high-school of The Hague doing a research on how to improve the services of The Hague Town Hall in regards of supporting the starting businesses. I hope they will really use his research and will use it on a proper way. :)

Back to the Netherlands
I am back to the Netherlands. Rebooted. :) Apart from a great inspiration which I got while traveling a bit outside Moscow (450km) and talking to some people, I am going to expand the set of professional services I currently provide to development of mobile applications for iPhone, iPad and Android. I have got a great business connection in Russia, a bright minded team of young professionals which...

Day of Moscow - Day of The President
Today Moscow is celebrating the Day of the City. You would think everyone who is living here should be happy about it. With years passing it seems this holiday becomes less “holi” and even less than a day. I have just returned from the city center, from Tverskaya street (near Kremlin). Almost all streets coming to Kremlin walls are blocked by police. No one is allowed there except for...

Day at Zhukovskiy ATC Tower
I spent the whole day with my father at ATC tower of Gromov Flight Research Institute where the Moscow Airshow MAKS-2011 is taking place until 21st August. Before 10:00 nobody could even think there would be a sunny weather. Around 10 o’clock the clouds started to melt and the nearly rainy weather was replaced with a true summer +30C sunny heaven. I think it was the best day in regards...

Press Day at Moscow Airshow MAKS-2011
Having a rest after a rather intense and hot day at MAKS Moscow airshow yesterday. Event organisation really sucked: car owners had huge problems with parking places, bus drivers did not know where to go, there were huge traffic jams so we were getting to the event 1,5 hours instead of 30 mins, police guy was checking the passports inside the overcrowded bus (at the event we were passing by the...
Aug 17th
Spent two days with a few groups of Russian and Dutch plainspotters at Zhukovskiy region just behind the runway. It’s an awesome feeling when some huge flying thingie is approaching towards you on its way to the airbase. The weather was and still is very sunny and hot, ie +31C. On Saturday I was sitting in the bushes :)) (or something like that) waiting for the airplanes. There were many...

My studio new website
I decided that I have totally to re-design my studio’s website. What I have noticed is that sometimes (no idea why) doing things for myself (not for someone) takes much more energy. Only putting yourself on a customer-side helps a bit, i.e. forces to doing things pragmatically. :)

Co-/working: startup vs non-startup environment
Half a year ago I did break my old 3GS LCD display and was very lazy to fix it. Last Friday I thought that’s enough and finally decided to pay some money to fix it. So today I visited a small company in The Hague which does exactly that — fixes mobile phones. It’s called NODEFiX. I was astonished with a fact the whole procedure took 20 minutes only. 70 euro for 20...
