Day of Moscow - Day of The President

Today Moscow is celebrating the Day of the City. You would think everyone who is living here should be happy about it. With years passing it seems this holiday becomes less “holi” and even less than a day. I have just returned from the city center, from Tverskaya street (near Kremlin). Almost all streets coming to Kremlin walls are blocked by police. No one is allowed there except for the government or state VIPs. If you are a religious person, you cannot even visit the Sunday service in your church located close to Kremlin.  The police officer said: “What do you think?! This is a Day of the City! People would be allowed to go for a walk here since 4PM”. I guess we should rename this day to something like The Day of The President as only his servicemen are allowed to visit the streets which are usually visited by regular people on other days.
